How to Get Stockholm

By Air

Stockholm Arlanda International Airport is the biggest Sweden airport and strategical hub for Stockholm region and Scandinavia. Every year it handles around twenty million passengers and serves one hundred eighty-six destinations all over the world.
It is very easy to get to Stockholm city center from the airport. You can choose from using the Arlanda Express train, bus, taxi, car renting.

Stockholm Skavsta Airport is situated one hundred kilometers far from Stockholm city center. The airport serves low-cost flights.

​Flygbussarna runs buses from airport every hour. The trip takes around ninety minutes.

By  Train

Stockholm Central is Stockholm railway station with seventeen platforms for international and domestic trains.
There are first and second class trains for international and regional trips. Sweden railway provides services for all types of travelers (including travelers with disabilities).

Swedish cities and Stockholm by train from three European countries:


1. Denmark. The duration of the trip from Copenhagen for Malmö is thirty minutes. It runs every twenty minutes. SJ High-Speed trains are direct trains that connect Copenhagen and Stockholm.

2. Norway. There are trains:
  • Oslo-Stockholm-Gothenburg
  • Trondheim-Are-Östersund
  • Narvik-Kiruna-Boden-Stockholm

3. Germany. Berlin Night Express runs from April to August There are trains that serve from April to August. Booking is necessary in advance!

By Bus

Cityterminalen is the biggest Sweden bus station.
The main bus companies that provide service in Sweden are Swebus, Eurolines, Flygbussarna, Nettbus.
The are busses from Paris, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Berlin, etc.

By Car

Traveling to Stockholm by car is much easier in comparison with other European countries. The traffic is not heavy in Sweden. You can travel as in your own car as using car renting.
