Sule Pagoda
Sule pagoda is a magnificent sight. It is a navigational landmark in the city and is easy to get from anywhere in Yangon. Entrance tickets to the Sule pagoda cost three dollars. While you can enjoy the inside of the pagoda, the outside is considered to be more impressive.
Known for its rich history, in more recent times it has also become a strategic place for protests and rallies.

Kandawgyi Lake
Kadawgyi lake is situated at the Kandawgyi Park. The entrance ticket to the park costs 300 Kyats (about thirty US$ cents).
The walks near the lake give you magical views on Karawiek Palace. Built as a government ceremonial hall between June 1972 and October 1974, the Karawiek Palace today it is a restaurant and culrual center with food, music and shows.
Visit the park during evening time and enjoy the view of the Shwedagon Pagoda is the sunset from here.

Chaukhtatgyi Paya (Chak Htat Gyi Buddha)
Chaukhtatgyi Paya, also known as the Reclining Buddha, is 66 metres (217 ft) long, and one of the largest in Burma. Commissioned by a wealthy Burmese Buddhist in 1899, the origional statue was finished in 1907 but was flawed in its proportions and expression. In the 1950's it was demolished and replaced with the reclining Buddah we see today.
Open all day and night, with free entry, the large construction which houses the statue has a large amount of floor space in front of the Buddah, and is a popular place for people to pray and picnic with the their families and friends.
As with all temples, visitors have to leave their shoes at the entrance.
